| Successive Detection Logarithmic Video Amplifier (SDLVA) circuit to detect RF power level within 2 GHz - 14 GHz range. The maximum conversion error is ± 1 dB over full power (30 dB), and temperature range in the operating bandwidth. Today’s SDLVA modules are usually designed with discrete components to take advantage of their maximized performance but at the expense of higher price and assembly complexity. With this monolithic circuit we try to approach their electrical performance, drastically reducing their above mentioned drawbacks. The design in implemented in AMS 0.35 μm SiGe technology die size being roughly 850μm x 850μm including bonding pads. Especially the power consumption is far below the ones build with discrete components. | |
