Procedure to submit a circuit to a CMP run

You can transfer your circuit for checking at any time before the deadline of a run. Circuits must be free of DRC error and without antenna errors for fabrication.

Mailing

Set the subject of mails about a circuit with the appropriate key words.

The run reference is mandatory in the subject.

[Examples of subjects]

Requested documents

Specific steps for STMicroelectronics runs.

One month before the deadline of STMicroelectronics runs you must complete the appropriate reservation request :

  • BiCMOS7RF_reservation_request
  • HCMOS9_reservation_request
  • CMOS090_reservation_request
  • CMOS065_reservation_request

Please request it by email to the contact for the technology.
You can cancel your reservation if you are not ready to send a circuit at the deadline of a run.

Before sending a circuit for checking:

First fill the appropriate CMP Order Form (cf. http://cmp.imag.fr/documents/) and fax it dated and signed by the director of your institution.

Note that a submission cannot be accepted if the CMP Order Form, duly filled and signed, is missing.

Technical data of the document are necessary to check a circuit.

If packaging is requested, you must send the bonding diagram with the CMP Order Form.

Files

The name of a circuit is the name of the top cell.

Three files are requested to transfer a circuit:

  1. the gds2 description compressed by gzip (the CAD software can generated compressed files)
  2. the pipo file: the PIPO.LOG file generated by the CAD software during translation in gds2 format, renamed to avoid confusion with other circuits
  3. the information file in text format with data about the circuit and the designer

[Example for a circuit named DIGITAL in the S90C8_1 RUN]

Circuits must be sent before the deadline of the run.

You can send a circuit at any time before the deadline.

Transfer by Email

Have you sent the CMP Order Form ? (See "Requested documents”)

You must request an authorization to the recipient before sending a circuit by Email. You request must include the file sizes.

[Example of request]

NB: if a circuit is sent by Email without an authorization, it will be removed without any checking.

Don’t send a circuit to cmp@imag.fr.

Only small files can be transferred by Email.

When you have received the authorization from your contact at CMP, send 2 messages

  • one message to announce the transfer
  • one message to transfer the circuit

[Example for version 1 of a circuit named Digital]

NB: Don’t make a tar file or a zip file with the requested files, attach them to your message as separate files.

You will receive an Email to confirm reception of your circuit.
